Yo Sakakibara

LEX Founder
A native of Fukushima, Japan, Yo Sakakibara (Founder) held a vision of a peaceful, multilingual society open to all languages and all people.  Even before current research was available, he intuited that a naturalistic multilingual immersion-style setting was the most beneficial for language acquisition and the creation of well-rounded global citizens and future leaders.

Mr. Sakakibara established the LEX organization in Japan in 1981 and sister organizations in the U.S., Mexico, and South Korea soon thereafter.  He founded LEX America in Cambridge in 1985.  Thanks to him, we have this beautiful community and hope for the future.
