Open Your Heart and Home: Hosting a LEX Visitor

Welcoming a visitor from another country into your home can be a wonderful experience for the entire family. LEX offers the opportunity to host not only students, but also adults, couples and families with small children. Stays in your home can range from 1-2 weeks to a month, or even a year! Host families vary greatly in size, background, occupation, and interests. Individuals and couples are welcome to host as well.  What makes a good host family is a willingness to share your lives with a new family member and a taste for the adventure of mutual discovery.  Please contact us at info@lexlrf.org or (617) 354-1140 for more information.

Adult and family exchange
I think learning about another culture is amazing and everyone should try it.  In the end, you learn we are all alike.
Youth homestay from Japan
Youth exchange
Youth homestay from Mexico
It has been a great lesson in "demystifying" visitors from a foreign land.  I think our whole family is more open to new things as a result.
Young leaders
Our daughter's curiosity about other cultures grew with enormous intensity after hosting a Japanese visitor.

Getting excited to travel
It was interesting seeing ourselves through the eyes of another culture.
