A homestay experience is an opportunity for sharing language and culture, along with  learning more about ourselves and our own culture while discovering or deepening understanding of other languages and cultures, all while making lifelong friends.  This is joyful learning at its best.

LEX believes that a homestay experience can be a great adventure for anyone and everyone!  We offer a variety of opportunities to host or travel to students, individuals, and whole families.  Many of our homestays are paired with wonderful  short camp programs featuring participants from around the world.  See below for more information on short homestay programs, overseas internships, and Academic Yearlong High School Programs. ​Homestay Travel​

The best way to experience a new culture and language is to immerse yourself in the daily life of a local family on a LEX / Hippo homestay.  Our homestay programs may be paired with a short camp experience.  Enjoy the great outdoors with your multilingual friends from around the world!

Overseas Internships

Gain real world experience in the exciting and meaningful fields of language acquisition and cultural exchange while immersing yourself in the lives of your local host families.  Participate in, promote, and present at LEX / Hippo Family Clubs, all while acting as a cultural ambassador.

Academic Yearlong High School Program (AYP)

An academic high school year overseas offers a deep and expansive dive into the local language and culture, as well as many languages and cultures through LEX / Hippo Family Club activities. You will learn more about yourself and form life-long connections with your host family, LEX friends, and schoolmates.
