Korea

In
a homestay, you will experience the heart of Korean culture - the Korean
family. The Korean Hippo Family Club (known as LEX Language Project
in the U.S.) families are always willing to open their homes to delegates
from around the world. Our families are all members of a unique multilingual
language club. By joining Hippo and participating in club activities,
they have shown a deep interest in and commitment to learning about
cultures other than their own. Host families are carefully selected
and all have some English ability.
By
becoming a member of a Korean family, you can experience the culture
in a way inaccessible to ordinary students or tourists. You will participate
in everyday life, eat home - cooked meals, explore your neighborhood,
and go sightseeing with your Korean hosts.
Exchanges
to Korea are available to LEX Language Project members, and to 4-H youth
whose states participate in the Korean exchange program.

I spoke
at length on various topics with each of my
Korean host family members. I was able to relate extremely well
with each of the host family members on different levels.... Every
day was full of activities.
I went to the movies, had meals at home, went out to
restaurants, and watched TV with my host family.
I've met many wonderful people through the homestay.
