The primary role of this Cambridge. MA based position is language club promotion, coordination, and facilitation. In addition, there will be opportunities for exchange program coordination and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be a generalist who enjoys a variety of projects, and is able to prioritize well. Strong organizational skills, flexibility, excellent writing and marketing skills, and strong interest in languages are a must. Schedule has some flexibility and this can be a good position for a parent of school-aged children, including someone who is returning to the workforce. There is a possibility for the position to grow over time. Our North Cambridge office is easily accessible by public transportation and by car. •Facilitate or participate in language club activities at least twice a week
•Market our multilingual language programs via posters, online, and through community events
•Support fellows and clubs in Cambridge and around the country
•Coordinate club meetings, lectures, and events
•Maintain our website, blog, and social media presence, and write e-letters
•Recruit and manage office volunteers and interns including interns from Japan and Mexico
•Recruit, screen, and support host families for interns from overseas and other visitors
Additional Possible Responsibilities Depending on Skills, Time, and Interest
•Assist with World Internship Project overseas and LEX Internship in Japan
•Assist with exchange programs between Japan and Korea and U.S. partner organizations
•Assist with a joint research project on multilingualism
•A minimum of two-three years related work experience
•Valid MA driver’s license and access to a car
•Familiarity with MS Office, Excel, Access
•Japanese language ability and understanding of Japanese culture
•Familiarity with Quickbooks, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, website builders, or HTML
