HOSTING
Welcoming a visitor from another country into your home can be a wonderful
experience for the entire family. LEX offers the opportunity to host
not only students, but also adults, couples and families with small
children. Stays in your home can range from 1-2 weeks to a month, or
even a year! Host families vary greatly in size, background, occupation,
and interests. What makes a good host family is a willingness to share
your lives with a new family member and a taste for the adventure of
mutual discovery.
Annual Transnational Exchange
to Boston (April - May)
Host families wanted, to make beautiful memories
with adults and families from Japan, Mexico and Korea!
Every year, around the end of April to the
beginning of May, our LEX staff organizes an exchange program between
Japan, Mexico, Korea and Boston. This year, we are happy to report
that our visitors from Japan and Mexico had a truly enjoyable homestay
experience thanks to our wonderful host families! The role of the
host family is to share their day to day activities with our visitors
and share in the exchange of cultures and languages. For
more information on how to become a host family for our annual Transnational
Exchange to Boston, please contact us at info@lexlrf.org or (617)
354-1150. We offer this exciting opportunity once a year, during the
springtime. This is a great chance for you and your family to experience
the benefits of a international exchange program and make lifelong
friendships! So come join us and become a host family today!

Magical!
Our
visitor's presence was magical! All of us - aunts, uncles,
and assorted cousins - had such an exciting "new" dimension
added to our lives. We learned numerous words, shared the
wonderful dinners she cooked so lovingly, and absorbed a new
culture through her conversations with us.

Words are Not Enough
Words do not begin to
explain the joy I have experienced in hosting Satoshi. This
whole week has been chock full of wonderful, insightful and
educational events, for not only my family, but for many members
of our community.

Hosting is the Next
Best Thing to Going
We enjoyed it very much - the next
best thing to actually going to Japan. It was a wonderful
experience for each member of our family, it felt like we
were on vacation. Our guests (a Japanese family of four) adapted
very nicely. They were very helpful and felt like a part of
our family. The parents both spoke excellent English. The
children didn't seem to have difficulty communicating with
our children even though they spoke little English.
